IMPLEMENTATION OF INTELLIGENT INDUSTRY 4.0 TECHNOLOGIES TO REDUCE LOGISTICS RISKS IN THE INDUSTRIAL COMPANY WHIRLPOOL SLOVAKIA – CASE STUDY

Abstract: Companies are constantly taking risks that threaten their business and are looking for ways to mitigate, reduce, or eliminate them. The aim of this work is to specify the intelligent technologies of Industry 4.0 used in the studied industrial enterprise to reduce logistics risks and to identify logistics risks whose negative impacts can be mitigated by using intelligent technologies. In this article, an interview was used as a qualitative research method. The data from the interviews with managers of company under study were analysed by thematic analysis using a combined coding strategy. The results show that managing logistics risks using intelligent technologies provides new opportunities for their reduction, and intelligent technologies can significantly reduce or eliminate logistics risks. The research results confirmed that the implementation of intelligent technologies increases the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management in logistics in the studied company, which can be a recommendation for other industrial enterprises. This paper brings new knowledge expanding the theoretical foundations in the field of risk management and empirical data that can be used in further academic research about new risk management approaches.
