Abstract: This paper, based on a bibliometric review, explores the link between intellectual capital and macroeconomic factors in the public policy literature, focusing on trends, themes, and gaps, particularly in human capital mobility. It highlights the close connection between inflation and monetary policy, while areas such as growth and economic modelling are examined less. Analysing 8,759 documents from 1917 to 2025 across 718 sources, it uses co-word analysis, co-citation mapping, and thematic clustering to trace research developments. Despite increased attention to macroeconomic outcomes, issues such as brain drain and knowledge mobility remain underrepresented, revealing key gaps and guiding policymakers and scholars in better integrating human capital strategies.

Keywords: intellectual capital, brain drain, inflation, economic growth, public policy
